An Annual Parish Meeting is a public meeting held once a year for a civil parish in England. It is not the same as a parish council meeting—instead, it’s a meeting for all local electors (residents registered to vote in the parish).
Its main purpose is to:
- Report on the past year – including activities of the parish council and other local groups
- Discuss local issues affecting the community
- Give residents a chance to ask questions, raise concerns, and suggest ideas
- Encourage community involvement and transparency
The meeting is usually chaired by the parish council chairman
